Nominations

The San Diego County Engineering Council (SDCEC) is pleased to offer the following awards to recognize the contributions of local engineers and projects. Please see attached three packets for further details.   

Nomination Deadline: December 31, 2018 (with an extension to January 7, 2019 if needed)

  1. Individual Engineering Honor Awards Packet:  recognize the following individuals's:
    • Outstanding Engineer - a practicing technical track engineer's accomplishments* in the field of engineering.
    • Outstanding K-12 Engineering Educator - a formal or informal educator's accomplishments* in K-12 engineering education.
    • Outstanding Engineering Educator - a post-secondary educator's accomplishments* in engineering & engineering education.
    • Outstanding Engineering Service, Dr. Thomas Avolt Kanneman - an individual's service* for the advancement of the engineering profession.
    • Outstanding Engineering Leader - a leader's accomplishments* in the advancement of the engineering workplace and its culture.
  2. Student College Project Awards Packet: recognizes achievements* of a student engineering project that benefits the general public.  
  3. Project Awards Packet: recognizes achievements* of a local engineering project that benefits the general public
*Awards recognize RECENT contributions, typically within the last three to five years (students are the last two years). Prior contributions are appropriate for the general background but are not the primary basis for the current year award. Please see additional criteria in the nomination packets attached. 

Winners are selected by the SDCEC Awards Committee comprised of representatives of local San Diego engineering societies. Winners will be recognized during the Engineer's Week San Diego Awards Banquet. Prior award winners are listed here
