The celebration of Engineers Week began in 1951 around one pioneer considered to be our nation's first engineer: George Washington. Washington, in addition to being the father of our nation, was an engineering pioneer noted for his survey work. Engineers Week is about celebrating the engineering marvels in this world and recognizing the contributions of those engineers.
This year's Engineers Week Festival seeks to recognize a diverse array of pioneering engineering role models and to bring to light their achievements. We've compiled a list of a few of those pioneering engineers who have made a significant difference in this world. Through your sponsorship, we will highlight a pioneer to inspire a whole new generation about the accomplishments engineers have made. We will promote your sponsored pioneer during the day of programming and throughout the festival promotional opportunities.
The San Diego County Engineering Council (SDCEC) invites you to name an engineering pioneer with your sponsorship level. Please see the "Looking for an Engineering Pioneer?" below. Sponsorship commitments will be recognized early throughout the festival promotion. Please get your sponsorship commitments in early.
