The 2021 San Diego Engineers Week Festival, also known as #EFEST21, held events throughout the week of Feb 22 - 27. All events were virtual, free and geared for existing and aspiring #SanDiegoEngineers everywhere. Below is a brief roadmap or quick guide of of the calendar events. Feb 22 - Awards & Recognition Ceremony (6 pm) - Kickoff Engineers Week, hear about the amazing student and award winners making a difference in the community. Then top it off with keynote "Imagining Tomorrow". (For Professionals, College & High School students).
Feb 25 - SWE SHPE NSBE Networking (6 pm) Open to all employee resource groups and affinity groups. Great way to meet the Engineering Society Chapters, members and volunteers who are advancing Women, Hispanics and Blacks in Engineering. Local San Diego chapter representatives from SWE (Society of Women Engineers), SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers), and NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) will be in attendance. (This event is for professionals)
Feb 26 - Society & Speaker Reception (6 pm) Every celebration needs a little time to network, relax a little and have a little fun. This reception is for all local engineering society chapters, friends and colleagues. The bonus is the opportunity to meet the on-demand speakers, all of our sponsoring partners, and play the grand finally of the Engineering Legend Trivia & Raffle. (For professionals, college & high school)

Feb 23 (9 AM PST) - Creating Inclusive STEM Experiences (DiscoverE)
Feb 23 (4 PM) - Role Model Training Volunteers working w grade 4-6 plus students
Feb 25 (2 PM) - Low Tech Engineering Volunteers working with early childhood
Student & STEM Outreach Opportunities:
Feb 22 - Introduce A Girl to Engineering: WEareSTEM (4 pm) Middle & high school girls discover transportation career paths in land, sea & air they never imagined existed. (Athena Racing)
Feb 24 - "Ask An Engineer" Student Mentoring (5 pm) College & High School students will have a chance to meet engineers in several disciplines (Civil, Biomedical, Mechanical, Software, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial) questions about classes, careers, and how they got there. They will have a chance to pick up a few networking and mentoring tips too.
Feb 27 - STEM Saturday - (10 AM) K-6 students, (11 AM) grade 7 - 12 students (hosted by ASCE-YMF).
Feb 27 - Robotics Game Changers (3 PM) Grade 7 - 12 students, and all interested, are invited to design their own robots and learn more from FIRST Robotics Team Mechanical Advantage
Feb 28 - Logic Workshop (2 PM) Grade 3 - 8 students, will explore riddles and strategies for tackling tricky puzzles (hosted by the All Girls STEM Society)
