ABOUT
The San Diego County Engineering Council (SDCEC) scholarship page is dedicated to promote visibility of local San Diego Engineering Society Scholarships. Many local chapters and society level national Engineering Societies offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors (incoming freshmen), undergraduate (rising sophomores to seniors) and graduate level students.
San Diego Engineering Society Scholarships
Many San Diego Engineering Society "Sections" or "Chapters" offer scholarships. They typically require some type of San Diego residency (ie graduating from a San Diego high school or attending a San Diego college) and recommendation letter(s):

Am Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Scholarships - deadline typically December 31
Am Society of Heating, Refrig, Air-Cond Engineers (ASHRAE) Scholarships - deadline typically May 1 HS Grads/incoming freshman
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Scholarships - deadline unknown (also open to grades 9-12)
National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Scholarships - deadline typically April 1
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Scholarships - deadline typically April 1
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarships - deadline typically April 1 incoming first year students, Feb 1 for upper class

Adding a Scholarship: Can I add my Scholarship? Only local San Diego Engineering Society Sections can add their scholarship offerings on this page. You may also add your society level scholarships. For more information, visit the Join/Societies page
Timing: If you have a Spring Scholarship offering, please have your scholarship application package available and on-line by December 15th. The goal is to begin promotion by December 20th so that students can work on the scholarship(s) during their holiday break.
Eligibility: If at all possible, please extend your scholarship offerings to include eligibility for a local community college. keep in mind that community colleges, newer engineering university curriculums and many computer science programs do not have ABET accreditation.
